Okay, you probably didn’t even know a company like this could exist, but it’s true! In fact, we are one of only a handful in the entire country. You might be asking yourself, “could I really scoop poop for a living?” but it’s so much more than that. There’s over 20 billion pounds of dog waste generated every year in the U.S. alone, so much of which is wrapped in tiny plastic bags and dumped into our landfills.
We’re here to change that. All bags we use and provide for pet waste stations are 100% compostable and so all those bags, dog waste -even compostable cat litter, is thrown straight into our composters and processed into a beautiful fertilizer.

Job Description
Love Dogs? Want to work outside all day? …Have a strong stomach?
Pet Poo Skiddoo is an Asheville based pet waste removal company looking to hire a full-time Pet Waste Technician. The job consists of driving to residential and commercial properties to scoop up dog waste found on the ground and changing out small bins and pet waste stations. You will also have opportunities to visit the composting site and learn how our process works.
Requirements:
- Valid state driver’s license
- Safe driving record
- At least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger.
- Reliable transportation (Employee will be driving a mid-size, automatic pickup truck provided by the company, but will need their own form of transportation to commute to and from the truck’s location in Fletcher, NC on each workday).
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, Saturday 8:30am – 2:00pm
Although we work in various weather conditions, if the weather is too yucky for us to work, we always have some tasks to work on back in Fletcher to assure you maintain your 40 hours.
NOTE: We are flexible with time so you can choose to start your shift a bit earlier or later to better suit your schedule.
You will be required to work most holidays excluding Thanksgiving & Christmas day.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work year round in inclement weather
- Must love dogs and be confident around varying dog breeds
- Ability to handle physical workload (must be able to lift up to 35 lbs).
- Ability to walk for multiple hours/miles per day.
Compensation:
- $16/hour
- Health Benefit Contributions

Covid Considerations:
There is no need to physically interact with any of our clients and most of the time you will not even see them. You will be trained by two different people at separate times for about 3 weeks and then you will mostly work on your own. Although it is not required to wear a mask while scooping, we will be providing you with the proper PPE such as mask, gloves, and sanitizing products.
