FAQs
How do your services work?
We come on a scheduled basis (every other week, once per week, or twice per week) and scoop your yard of all dog waste. We will also take any dog waste bags you have left out for a walk. While we’re there, we also spot deodorize areas of the yard that have built up any pet odors.
Can you let me know when you are on your way?
Yes! In fact when you sign up, you can request a text from your scooper when they are 15 minutes out, as well as request a text, email, or door note notification for when your scooper has left.
Do I have to sign a contract?
No. In fact there are no set up fees either. For whichever schedule you sign up for (once a week, every other week, or twice per week), you would pay in advance for 4 weeks. You are then billed every 4 weeks. You can cancel at any time and whatever dates are not serviced within the current billing period will be refunded. We also offer a one-time only service for those that just want a single scooping and not be on a schedule.
How do I pay?
For your convenience, we offer online payment forms that accept credit and debit cards displaying the Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express logos. Your card will then be charged on a 4-week basis and a receipt will be emailed to you each time.
Do you service my area and what would my service day be?
We service Asheville and surrounding areas Monday through Friday – your service day will be scheduled depending on your geographical location.
Mondays: West Asheville, Candler, North Asheville
Tuesdays: Arden, Fletcher, South Asheville
Wednesdays: (parts of) North Asheville, Woodfin
Thursdays: (parts of) North Asheville, East Asheville, Fairview
Fridays: Hendersonville Township
**We can only service Fletcher, Arden, and Asheville twice per week at this time***
How do I start service?
Simply visit our service page, then fill out the questions on the form. After the billing portion is set up, service will start within a week.
What if I have a small yard?
Discounts are available for those with small yards typically ranging from 10% – 20% off depending on size. The discount cannot be determined until after our first visit. This discount cannot be combined with any other special or coupon code.
Is there an extra charge if I have a large yard?
We try to avoid increasing the rate, but in rare cases we may discuss with you an increase in rate or only scooping sections of the yard each time we are there.
Is there an extra charge if I have large dogs?
No. No matter what size your dog, we see it as being equally challenging. While larger dogs produce larger amounts of waste, it is harder to spot the ones the little guys put out. That being said, we do discount if you have a dog(s) 15lbs or under.
What is in your deodorizer?
The deodorizer we use in yards is called “Odormute”, a non-toxic, pet-safe enzymatic cleaner that will eat away at dead organic material, such as doggie poo residue that may be embedded in your grass for over a 2-3 day period to mitigate the smells. Absolutely safe on and around humans, pets and plants.
Do you allow dogs in the yard while you’re there?
Yes, as long as the dogs play nice. We’re fine with barking and jumping, just as long as there’s no bite risk. Our staff is very careful to keep all gates after entering and exiting the yard. We can text you when we’re on the way so you can bring your dogs in if needed (option available when signing up for service).
What if I don’t need my yard scooped on a certain week?
Are you taking your dog on vacation or boarding him for some time? No problem! Just notify us beforehand and we’ll credit your account for the skipped days.
Are you insured?
Yes we carry workers compensation and liability insurance.
Do you work on Holidays?
We try to work on or close to Holidays to help keep a clean yard for those hosting a party or having family visit. We will work Christmas Eve as long as there are enough scoopers available. Thanksgiving and Christmas Day we are closed.
Do I have to be home while you work?
No. Please let us know of anything that could possibly hinder us from getting to your yard such as a locked gate or steep driveway so that we can discuss the best solution.
What happens if it snows or rains?
We usually will still come to scoop your yard even if it is rainging. If it is heavy rain or thunderstorm, we can simply wait until it has passed. If heavy snowfall occurs or any other weather condition that prevents us from scooping that day, we will attempt to service the next day. If we decide to delay your service for the following week, we will credit your account half of that day’s service rate.
Note that we may pause deodorizing service during the winter months to prevent the liquid spray from freezing on the surface.
How do I cancel my service?
We’ll be sorry to see you go! If you need to cancel, simply call (828.668.2055) or email us (petpooskiddoo@gmail.com) at least 24 hours in advance before your next payment is scheduled.
