Former web designer, Stephanie Chow launches her new business, Pet Poo Skiddoo in Asheville, NC. A new type of business specializing in pet waste removal for loving pet owners in Asheville and surrounding areas.

Pet waste has been an increasingly growing problem in America where there are 83 million pet dogs that produce some 10.6 million tons of poop every year. All that poop is filling our yards, public places, and even our waters. What’s more alarmingly is that just one gram of dog waste can contain 23 million fecal coliform bacteria. This bacteria can spread common diseases such as roundworms and ringworms to other animals and humans as well.

In fact a recent study done by the CDC (Center for Disease Control) showed that approximately 13.9% of the U.S. population has tested positive to Toxocara (roundworms).

Pet owners should also be on the lookout for our beloved French Broad River as pet waste that is left out on the ground takes a while to biodegrade. A natural occurrence such as wind and water can blow that waste into our local lakes and rivers and when pet waste enters our waters, it consumes the oxygen and releases ammonia, which then in turn harm the fish that reside there. This also increases the danger for humans when swimming or tubing in these areas as they are exposed to the bacteria as well.

Pet Poo Skiddoo’s solution to these issues is offering affordable weekly and biweekly yard scooping for residential and commercial areas in their hometown, Asheville, NC. This can be a great solution to help those busy pet owners and help keep a clean and safe environment for Asheville and surrounding areas.
